One thing I want you to know about this album is their is no letup throughout the whole composition. If you want something that will bring you pure joy from track,to track to track, then this album will satisfy your eager ears. This band has put together something they should be very proud of and I truly enjoy hearing their music."   - Brian Hatchell (The Pit Unsigned Magazine)

“WOW, first time I've listened to you guys tonight on reverbnation, and I'm blown away....solid sound, you should be mainstream! Got a CD, cause I'd rock in my car anytime....”   - Gary Carota (Powerhouse Productions)

“I really like the style and vibe you guys have. Rick's voice really works with the music, and that's usually the biggest problem for bands is not having a front man who stands out.”   -Canan Obrient (Last Chance Studios)

"Excited to have REVELUS playing the NoDA Summer Musicfest, July 4-5, 2014! I have not seen them yet but it looks like I will soon get

"Check out the maiden launch of the first issue of The Indie Authority magazine. Great stuff including articles on your favorite and maybe never heard of unsigned bands and read the new extensive interview with REVELUS!!! One of North Carolina's best independent projects going in

the state!"   - Michael Harris (Indie Authority Magazine)

"These guys, showed yet again, why Revelus is one of the premiere bands in The Carolinas right now, with a full set of all their hits from their CD "Path of Persistance", and a brand new ballad Rick unveiled called Once Again, which the band will be going into the studio to record their next EP "Below The Surface" soon. Best wishes, and safe travels, as they set to embark on an East Coast Tour

starting in July."   - Gary Carota (Powerhouse Productions)

"When I think about the new album from REVELUS the first I think about is the growth in their sound from their previous album. Revelus has always been a talented band, but on the new album "BELOW THE SURFACE" they laid down their heart and soul. This album is a work of art and I get the honor to review it. Rick Logan (Vocalist/Guitarist) is one of the best songwriters I have ever heard and I put his skills right up there with Breaking Benjamin. His stories about life are sung with feeling, almost as if he has lived through the songs he writes... maybe he has.

TO LIVE - The energy of this album builds early with the opening track grabbing your attention from the start. It's right here where you realize Revelus is coming out swinging and that trend continues throughout the album. After just a few seconds this song has come to life and is ready TO LIVE and LIVE YOUR LIFE THE WAY YOU WANT!!!!!!

When BETTER THAN YOU begins you can feel the pain and anger in the opening guitar intro. That pain is brought to life in Rick's Voice, but it almost seems to ease in chorus when he sings with full emotion. This is a song of wrong doing and betrayal, but let me say this, you will find nothing wrong with the quality of this song. It is POWERFUL and you become captivated by the story.

YOU'RE GONE was the first track I had ever heard off of the new album. Sitting in the middle it is the backbone and it's there for a reason. The song is STRONG and you only need to hear it once to know how special it is. The band is at their best on this song with some of the heavier moments where they can just let their instruments fly.

ONCE AGAIN is my favorite song on a album full of HITS. It's a GEM. I had never heard this side of the band before. This is definitely one song where you hear the growth in the band and taking on new areas in their music. If you have ever wondered how you could be good to someone, but not earn the same respect back, this is your song. Just when your emotions are at their highest point, you get a guitar solo that puts a knot in your throat. The solo is well timed and laid down PERFECTLY.

When you think all hope is gone the band lets you know she is HAPPY WHEN SHE COMES, because she shows you when she comes. This is a fun song. The band is solid and the crashing Drums is met with some of the best guitar work on the whole album. The song goes by fact as they always do when a song is great.

FREE OF IT ALL is the perfect name to end this album. Rick's vocal range reaches limits that almost give this song a metal feel at times. This is a song that completes a story that you have lived through and felt in the tracks before it, but this time you get that feeling of HOPE and that no matter what happens you will be okay.
